Thank you for visiting our parish web site! We are part of the Diocese of Trenton which encompasses over 100 parishes in Central New Jersey in the United States. Locally we are 2 miles East of Exit 114 of the Garden State Parkway in the Bayshore Section of Monmouth County.
Our Parish has been in existence for more than 100 years. Initially it was a farming community but gradually as migration from New York happened and the area became a dormitory for workers commuting to NYC the population grew dramatically. Many of our members commute each day by train, bus, ferryboat and car to work in New York. Others commute to the Northern Counties in the State each day.
Throughout the mid 20th Century our parish built St. Mary Elementary School and Mater Dei High School which continue to be ministries of our parish community today. In 2008 we moved into our new Church. It is dedicated to Mary under her title as Mother of God. At the same time we moved our priests residence and parish offices into the old convent which is adjacent to Mary, Mother of God Church. That is where you will find all of our parish ministries and offices with the notable exception of our schools which have their offices located in their respective buildings on the same property.
We invite you to join us for Mass any time that you are n the area and if you are moving into our area please come and visit. Introduce yourself and we will be happy to welcome you among us. Our lives tend to be very active these times and we need a haven to meet God and experience his consoling presence to all of us. We encourage you to visit our Adoration Chapel located in our building and open 24/7. There you can spend any amount of time you wish in prayer and reflection.
Again thank you for visiting our web site. Please explore all that it shares regarding our parish family. Drop us a note and come join us as we seek to grow in holiness each day.
