As we approach the Holy Season of Lent, I make an urgent appeal to all our parishioners to become permanent adorers at the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. For almost 24 years, Saint Mary, Mother of God Church has been blessed to have continuous Eucharistic Adoration on our campus. In recent years, the number of permanent adorers are fewer. Each of the 24 hours should have at least two permanent adorers. Currently, there are many hours with just one adorer and some hours with no one permanently covering the hours. That is why I am making this urgent appeal.
We are one week from the start of the Holy Season of Lent. Lent is a time when the Lord Jesus invites us to a deeper union with him. As Jesus asked his disciples on the night of his passion, he is asking all parishioners of Saint Mary’s: Could you not send one hour with me? (Matthew 26:40) Above is a video (from another parish) explaining the beauty of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration with testimonies from their parishioners who are permanent adorers. I sincerely pray that this video encourages you to sign up to become a permanent adorer at the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel here at Saint Mary’s.
To sign up now to become a permanent adorer, please call Peggy Dunne at 732-671-0071, ext. 241 or email Peggy at pegodun@gmail.com.
If you would like to be part of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Society at St. Mary’s and serve as a Divisional Coordinator or Hourly Captain, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, February 25th, following the Mardi Gras Celebration (7pm) and Evening Prayer (8pm) in Mary, Mother of God Church. The meeting should start around 8:30pm.
I sincerely hope that all parishioners commit to become a permanent adorer at the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel and encourage your family and friends to do the same.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Jeff Kegley
