This week I attended a meeting for the re-opening of Saint Mary School for the 2020-2021 school year this September. With all the new requirements and directions presented by government and diocesan official, I am pleased to inform all our parishioners, school families and friends, that Saint Mary School will be fully open with five day “in-person” instruction. The school administration and I are confident that Saint Mary School will meet all the requirements for the health and safety of all our students and staff.
It’s been said that Catholic schools are nothing short of a miracle. Studies and reports have consistently shown that Catholic schools do a better job of educating students as confirmed in one recent U.S. Department of Education study on Student Achievement. With our more than 60 year history of Saint Mary School we shares in this success story. Since the opening of our school doors, parents have been making extraordinary sacrifices to send their children to our parish school. In doing so, it demonstrates to their children that education is a high priority.
As any parent can tell you, raising children today is a big responsibility with many challenges. One of these challenges is selecting the “right” school for their child. Parents today are constantly evaluating and re-evaluating their many options. This past week in just two days ten new students enrolled in our school. Parents know when children are enrolled in Saint Mary School, they are enrolled into a family. Our students are welcomed into a loving, safe, caring Catholic environment where the entire community of parents, teachers, students, and parishioners are committed to the spiritual, academic and personal formation of each student.
I want to invite and encourage parents with school age children to contact Saint Mary School principal, Mr. Craig Palmer to discuss the wonderful opportunities of a Saint Mary School education. Mr. Craig Palmer, who will arrange a personal tour of our campus and facilities for you and your child(ren). You may also check out our webpage at

To you our dear parishioners, I want to honor you and thank you for your enthusiastic support for Catholic education. Please consider making a donation to the Ave Maria Fund so every family that desire their children to have a Catholic education, maybe able to do so. Donation can be made on the parish webpage
www.stmarychurch.org/give or on our special “Go Fund Me” Ave Maria Fund page.
Finally, I humbly ask for your continued prayers that the Good Lord will abundantly bless our work and the mission of Catholic education here at St. Mary’s, especially as we continue to prepare our building to welcome back our students in September.
